Religion and Philosophy

Releigion is often conceived in the philosophical doctrines of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as the division of man from himself (Feuerbach), fantastic realization of human beings (Marx), or even as an expression “neurotic” ( Freud). Religion illusory sun is the question posed by some modern analysis.

From the Latin religio, its etymology is to dissociate. It relates to religious practice, worship. It comes from the verb relegere, gather again, which means gathering or religare bind, tie.

Two approaches may be considered:

Objectively, it is an institution whose purpose is to give God honor and tribute. It is a set of practices and rituals relating to a sacred reality, separated from the profane.

According to the subjective now, it is the inner feeling of the Sacred, with belief in the divinity and faith.

Definitions of religion by philosophers:

“Religion is the absolute spirit not only for intuition and representation, but also for the thought and knowledge. Its destination is to raise capital at the individual thought of God, provoking the union with him and assure him of that unit. Religion is the truth, as it is for all men. The essence of true religion is love. ”

“If a man reaches the heart of his own religion, it also reaches the heart of other religions. ”

“Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a world without heart, as it is the spirit of an era without spirit. It is the opium of the people. ”

“Religion is the general theory of this world, its encyclopaedic, its logic in popular form, its spiritualistic point d’honneur, its enthusiasm, its moral sanction, its solemn complement, its universal consolation and justification. It is the fantastic realization of the human being because human beings do not have a true reality. ”

“True religion is, consistent with reason and human knowledge, the report prepared by him to the infinite life around him, which binds his life to that infinity and guides him in his actions. ”

“Even God does not exist, even religion is holy and divine”

“God is a perfect word to explain the world”
