Brentano’s intentionnality

Brentano’s main added value consists in bringing the doctrine of intentionnality in the philosophicla system. Brentano’s intentionnalityhas distinguished and characterized mental events as “the direction of the mind to an object” in perception, judgement or belief and approval or disapproval.

This theory has clearly influenced Edmund Husserl, the founder of the phenomenology.
