Leibniz and the principle of sufficient reason

Was is Leibniz’s metaphysical theory on the origin of the universe ?
A principle of Leibniz, stating that for every fact there is a reason why it is so and not otherwise.
this reason takes the form of an a priori proof founded on the nature of the subject and predicate terms used in stating the fact.
leibniz used the principle freely; to prove that there could not be two identical atoms, or that the world did not begin at a moment in time.
